There are things we choose to wear once, and things we choose to wear for a lifetime. Fragrance, we've always thought, belongs to the second kind - which is exactly why we're so pleased to welcome (S)MER into the SHÉ world.

Founded by Sydney stylist Ed Hansen, (S)MER was built on a quietly radical idea: that a signature scent shouldn't live in a drawer, saved for occasion - it should be worn the way you wear your favourite pair of jeans. Softened by time. Shaped by the wearer. More yours with every year.

The current collection holds five such stories:

• Bois du Matin - fresh, woody, light-wash denim in the spring air
• Nuit Blanche - warm amber and soft vanilla, Paris after midnight
• Canadian Tuxedo - smoky woods, worn leather, mandarin, vintage denim
• Petal to the Metal - part floral, part rev-head, wild crushed Turkish roses
• Bullet Proof Soul - the newest chapter in the collection

It isn't a stretch for us. We were drawn to (S)MER because the philosophy underneath it is one we already live by: that the things we choose to keep close - a silk shirt, a signature scent - should be made with intention, hand-finished rather than mass-produced, and allowed to grow more beautiful with time rather than simply wearing out. Sophisticated, timeless, and built to be lived in rather than kept for best. Different mediums, the same quiet standard.
